How do you find year-round rental housing? Where's the best place to look?
During the summer year-round residents compete for housing with visitors who come to the Outer Banks for vacation. We recommend that summer and seasonal employees discuss housing issues with potential employers during the interview process. Most employers have experience with either providing rentals (sometimes at reduced rates) or they will assit you in finding housing. It's an issue that is never ending for both employee and employer. As an alternative cottage rental companies are always a good resource. Ask them to place you on a list should year-round rentals become available.

If I am under 18 years old am I subject to child/youth employment provisions in North Carolina?

What is the Minimum Wage in North Carolina? What about for "tipped employees?>

Can I allow my Résumé to be viewed only by Employers or will it be seen by everyone? What about my contact information?
A popular option is to give permission to REGISTERED EMPLOYERS to review your résumé on-line. The information supplied to employers will NOT include contact information other than your name and e-mail address. It will not include your mailing address or phone number. If interested, a prospective employer may contact you by e-mail. To take advantage of this option, simply check the box provided on the first page of the Résumé Builder. Once you have completed your résumé you will be able to view the full version and the shorter on-line version. You can decide to update it, print it out, e-mail it to a prospective employer or delete it altogether. You can return and change the on-line view option at any time.
